Last night I had the pleasure of being invited, along with a very select few other Chicago Food Bloggers, to sample the special summer menu by Executive Chef, Andrew Deuel at the Italian-inspired Tesori restaurant in Chicago’s Loop neighborhood. Since there were a limited number of invites available, I attended this dinner solo. No worries, though. Despite not knowing with whom I would be dining, I was excited to be in the company of my fellow members of the Chicago Food Blogger network. As it turned out, I already knew 2 of the other guests and I had the pleasure of meeting another fun blogger for the first time.
Tesori is only 8 walking blocks from my apartment. However, it was a rainy evening, so I took the CTA Green Line to the Adams/Wabash ‘L’ stop which is directly adjacent to this restaurant.. How convenient! Another great bonus of dining at here is that it is next door to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and mere steps from The Art Institute of Chicago, Millenium Park, Grant Park and much more. Fun fact: Tesori sits at the very start of the historic Route 66!
My fellow bloggers and I were treated to a 4-course food and wine pairing which included some really tasty antipasti, primi, secondi and desserts (of our personal choice) and we shared them all 🙂 We allowed the chef to pair his suggested wines with each course we chose.
The chosen antipasti included the following:
The light and delicate pasta dishes included the following:
The secondi (main entrees) included the following:
Finally, for dessert we chose the following:
The space here is elegant, comfortable and beautifully adorned. The staff is friendly and accomodating. We all had a lovely time! By the way, “tesori” means “little treasures” in Italian. And, I highly recommend that you visit this little treasure whenever your Italian food craving hits and you are in the Chicago Loop vicinity 🙂
In keeping with the spirit of Feeding Off The Rails, I encourage you to leave your car at home and take the CTA Green, Brown or Orange Line over Tesori. Save on gas. Avoid traffic and parking. Reduce pollution. Don’t drink and drive!
